Mathematics Subject Classification MSC2010

SKOS and related material

The Mathematics Subject Classification (MSC) is being converted into a SKOS form incorporating much other related material. Here are some of the files and services involved in the development.

SPARQL Access

• Prototype 4store Endpoint set up by the Mathematics Department of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki

Early Sample Use Cases

• MSC Linked Wiki — a wiki for browsing the MSC dataset, powered by a SPARQL endpoint and the LinkedWiki extension to MediaWiki.
• AUTH School of Mathematics website based on Drupal with Semantic modules and SKOS MSC used in conjunction with other ontologies.
• Homepage of a researcher at the AUTH School of Mathematics; research interests taken from the MSC dataset.

  • The MSC-specific SKOS extension vocabulary (mscvocab: namespace), implemented as an OWL ontology.
  • N3 rules that expand the MSC/SKOS core dataset to the enriched “convenience” version that is suitable for “follow-your-nose” Linked Data browsing and that we actually serve. Tested with cwm.
